Hi!
I'm interested in books that you were fond of in your childhood, and that are not world-known and not yet translated into Russian. I'm eager to translate them and read to my own children. I'll be also very grateful if you give a brief description of a book and links to find the text in the internet.
Thank you in advance, I'm all awaiting!

Hi,

You guys have Sandra Boynton listed under your interests, and I was wondering if anyone has the song "O, Lonely Peas", and would mind uploading it for me? I've tried ITunes and MSN to get it legally, but as I'm in the UK it seems impossible for me to get it. I loved this song as a child and I'm desperate to have it again, but I don't have enough money to spare to buy the whole album! PLEASE HELP!

Thank you in advance :)

I'm new to LiveJournal. I'm Lucky! I've got two kids! I get all the cartoons, and Hello Kitty I could want as an adult. I love to watch The Winx Club, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Pink Panther, Totally Spies. I love to play games from GameWright. And LIVE for ello. BTW anyone looking for ello? It seems to have diaappeared from stores. I found some at T. J. Maxx Shopopolis set for $6.99, picked up the last two in the store. I think I'll know have to order from the UK, and Oz to get any more.

Valley of Dreams, A My Little Pony comic (x-posted) [May. 7th, 2006|10:26 am]

Hello toy lovers!

I would like to welcome everyone here to check out my My Little Pony photo comic on this account.

(Insert Ad Here)

It is called Valley of Dreams and stars two college age 80's ponies as they deal with everyday life, and very soon a journey not so everyday. In a Ponyland future where magic is dead and anything but earthling ponies are only myth, they may be the key to something much bigger than they could dream...
It is on comic number 11 at the moment and the true plot is just beginning :)!

(End Ad)

The whole comic is low budget but what it lacks in a better camera and fancy backgrounds it makes up for with heart and a love of the 80's cartoons (you'll see what I mean soon)

Again, everyone is welcome :D!
Updates are on weekends and sometimes weekdays to ;)

Yes, I am 23 and I play with my ponies:)

Hi! I am a lover of all things kids lit. After spending all my time hanging around the juvi section at Barnes and Nobles, they finally moved me from the Cafe to the kids' section. So now I get to force bewildered aunts to buy my favorite books for their impressionable children.
Personal faves:
Toot and Puddle books by Holly Hobbie
Anything from Chris Van Allsburg
Gregor the Overlander books by Suzanne Collins
and anything illustrated by David Catrow!

Today a lady was in my section and commented that her freaking sister in law is Helen Lester of Tacky the Penguin fame! Awesome!

So, question- does anybody have/know where I can find a Mo Willems Pigeon icon from Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, et al?

Where the wild things are [Jun. 4th, 2005|01:54 pm]

Hi everyone

There's a bear in the big blue house ride at my local shopping centre! I wanted to go on it but there were people around :)

I love Where the Wild Things Are. In one of my uni subjects, where I'm learning to teach music and dance, I have to make up a performance based on that book...it is kind of fun actually. I liked that book as a kid. I read it to a little kid who I look after sometimes, and he was convinced that the 'wild things' were monkeys!

I wonder if anyone else has picture books they really like

Have fun and stay sweet
Bella

Rereading childhood favourites [May. 12th, 2005|10:21 pm]

i've been on a kick of rereading books i enjoyed as a child (preteen, mostly). One such book, The Sword of Culann (Betty Levin) i only finished a few days ago. Out of curiosity, i did a quick search on the 'Net to see if it was still in print, and/or if there were other books available by the same author (the edition i have stated she had only written one other book at that point).

i wasn't able to track down a new copy of the book (several used ones, mind), but i did discover that there were two other books written later about two of the central characters; better yet, my local library has copies available. i'm now reading book two (A Griffon's Nest).

Does anyone have any particular favourite fiction books from their youth that they would recommend?

*laughs* Well I'm actually 34 years old and have a 4 year old Daughter and 3 year old son. However, I love seeing all the posts of everyone that is around 20 and 16. I've always loved picture books and stuffed animals. And I can definitely relate to being like that when I was 16 and 20 and every age in between.

I love Build-a-Bear. I have a Rabbit that I made before I was married. My two children each has multiple animals from Build-a-Bear. I went and made a Bearemy for my Birthday (August 21) since that is Bearemy's birthday too (with the help of my children).

I love watching Blue's Clues and Dora with my kids.

I think these types of Communities on Live Journal are wonderful.
